14th Leadership MeetUp: Red and blue make purple

Our series of events for managers provides you with in-depth insights into key aspects of leadership and change in Germany's two largest banking groups - the savings banks and cooperative banks. Use this platform to share knowledge, learn from each other and take a valuable look at the bigger picture.

At the 14th Leadership MeetUp, discuss how banks and executives can truly reach women through new ways of thinking and realistic formats such as ‘Du in Balance’ (You in Balance) – and why understanding female financial power is crucial for the future of banking.

The 15th Leadership MeetUp focuses on self-organisation – instead of hierarchies, with distributed responsibility, clear structures and stronger motivation within the team.

Join us for these two presentations:

Women are buying the world, but only in theory, unfortunately
Gabi Thamm | Head of Marketing & Sales | Volksbank Beilstein-llsfeld-Abstatt eG

They buy coffee at Starbucks, gifts at Etsy and stream series on Netflix – women are the driving force behind many brands that are now worth billions. The fictional ‘Becky ETF’ impressively shows what happens when female consumer power is translated into figures: +1,079% in five years. That’s not a typo.

But while women are shaping markets and transforming entire industries, their money often remains unused in savings accounts. Why is that? And what can banks do to change it?

This article is about much more than numbers. It’s about attitude, opportunities and the responsibility of managers – including and especially male managers – to rethink financial education and truly reach female customers.

What is needed are formats that don’t smell like banking, but like life. ‘Du in Balance’ combines mindset, exercise and financial knowledge – without pointing fingers, but with tangible added value. Because those who exercise also make a difference. And those who understand women understand the future of banking.

When everything speeds up – how leadership provides guidance and consulting remains human
Florian Dünstl | Regional Market Manager for Private Customers, Straubing | VR-Bank Ostbayern-Mitte eG

Our working world is in a constant sprint: technological developments, new expectations from customers and employees, and permanent change processes are compressing time, decisions and responsibility. In this keynote speech, we examine why speed alone is not a factor for success – and why guidance is becoming the central leadership task of our time. We explore the question of how leadership can provide stability in a fast-paced world: through clarity instead of complexity, attitude instead of actionism, and trust instead of control. The presentation shows how managers can set direction, create security and lead people through change despite the dynamic environment. With practical ideas and personal perspectives, the presentation invites you to rethink leadership – as a stable anchor in turbulent times.

The Leadership MeetUps are aimed exclusively at managers of all hierarchies and from all specialist areas of savings banks and cooperative banks as well as data centres (Atruvia/FI), preferably “ambassadors” from both financial groups.
