In light of current geopolitical developments and press reports, digital resilience and strategic independence are becoming increasingly important for the European financial sector—it is time to reassess known risks associated with cloud providers. At the same time, EU cloud providers are developing into reliable and technically competent partners in a secure legal environment.
In our information event, we take a critical look at risks relating to data protection, costs, and vendor lock-in, and provide background information on current developments.
We also highlight legal aspects such as the CLOUD Act, the Data Privacy Framework, and commissioned data processing, as well as current cost developments and strategies of US hyperscalers for vendor lock-in. After all, when using a single cloud provider, these risks can cause significant damage.
In addition to the risks, we will present a possible multi-cloud strategy as an alternative, which also relies on European providers.
This event is part of the seminar series “Multi-Cloud Architectures Made in Europe” – our compact format covering modern cloud strategies for banks.
In 45 minutes, you will gain practical insights into current challenges, technological developments, and strategic options – focused, solution-oriented, and with room for your questions.
